Meditation for Peace, Compassion and Personal Healing

Theme: What is the impact of anger and hate, and how can we deal with it?
Each class involves short teaching, discussion, and a guided meditation on each topic.
Beginners and experienced meditators are both welcome.
4/8: Basic “Metta” meditation on health, safety, love and ease for all.
4/15: Healing loneliness and divisions between people
4/22: Healing yourself: Self compassion

Holly E. Brodt
Holly E. Brodt is a long-time meditation practitioner. She is a retired St. Paul Police Officer, has a Degree in Clinical Psychology from Northwestern University, and is a Certified Police Peer Counselor. She has been a member of the Arrowhead Critical Incident Stress Management Team for over 9-years and is the Arrowhead CISM Outreach Education Coordinator.
Holly also created her own programs and company: Resiliency P.O.W.E.R. Education. She offers Stress Management and Resiliency Building education and more to emergency, public safety, and medical personnel, as well as high-stress organizations
Jean Gendreau
Jean Gendreau Jean has been a daily meditator since 1981 and has meditated with Christian, Sufi, Buddhist, Hindu, and non-religious meditation groups. She sees meditation as a skill that improves physical and mental health and spiritual intuition. “Meditation gives people hope and resilience. It changes how we see life.” Jean has been a writer for many years and taught writing and English in Madison, Wisconsin. She has lived in Ely since 2005.226 Harvey Street, Ely, MN.
